A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hard-working and enthusiastic, experienced Automatics Engineer to join our client’s ever-expanding team based in London/South East.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position but other qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing works on a range of automatic door operators
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and Planner for the scheduling of work and production of completion paperwork
  • Visit customer’s premises and active construction sites to carry out installation and maintenance work
  • Site surveys
  • Fault finding call-outs
  • Contribute to improving projects as required
  • Attend out of hours/weekend work as required
  • Raise and review any operational issues within the Engineering team
  • Based from home, expected to travel across London and the South East

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years site experience working as an Automatics Door Engineer
  • Experience working on automatic door operator systems such as Dorma, Record, Geze, Gilgen, G-U + others
  • Current BS EN16005 card
  • Part P would be an advantage
  • Current CSCS card
  • A full valid driving licence
  • Ability to attend out of hours/weekend call outs
  • A positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • ADSA certification, but not essential
  • Access control knowledge, but not essential
  • Health & safety knowledge (CSCS would be a significant benefit)
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of how building sites work and the challenges they can pose
