Market leaders in the design and manufacture of industrial steam boilers and other large products is seeking a Contracts Engineer to supervise and coordinate from project planning and design to installation and commissioning. The Contracts Engineer will have relevant experience in plant or processing engineering, is qualified to HNC level. In addition, the Contracts Engineer will have strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the supervision and administration of the day-to-day activities and coordination of multiple contracts from point of order to final commissioning and handover
  • Supervise and co-ordinate planning, design, procurement, build, subcontractors, installation works, despatch to site and commissioning.
  • Ensure accurate data is assembled and recorded to enable the procurement and manufacture of equipment to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Control and manage the contractual and commercial requirements of the project.
  • Maintain clear liaison between customers, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure contract requirements are met with regards to quality, time and budget.
  • Ensure contract financial requirements are adhered to within the time scales specified

 

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Have experience in plant or process engineering
  • Is qualified to HNC/degree or equivalent in mechanical, chemical or process engineering with experience in a relevant industry or manufacturer of related equipment
  • Have strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills
  • Have good time management and project management skills
  • Proficient in IT

 

Desirables:

  • Have experience within the mechanical contracting services or process engineering
  • Have worked with steam or high temperature process heating applications

 

Salary: £38,000 to £42,000
