Covid-19 Testers are needed at a testing site in Eastleigh. Covid-19 Testers will administer swab tests safely and correctly to members of the public and essential workers in Reading. Full training will be given, and you will be paid on deployment, subject to the number of shifts offered. Covid-19 Testers will have excellent teamwork, people-facing and communication skills. Covid Testers will ned to be proficient with IT and be able to work under pressure. Full training and PPE provided.

Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged.

  • Meet and greet customers arriving at the drive through swab station, scan customer’s QR to codes to payment and check the customer’s ID.
  • Perform the throat and nasal swab testing procedure in line with current clinical standards, while adhering to hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and NHS standards
  • Efficiently delivers the daily tasks and testing plan, including packing up samples, stock management, completing testing administration and procedures in line with expectations
  • Delivers brilliant care at test centres, responding quickly to all patients’ needs while reassuring individuals throughout the testing process
  • Direct vehicles to allotted bays to await booked slot or drive through swab lanes
  • Support the swabbers by labelling up sample kits and ensuring the correct sample kit is with the right customer
  • Follows high presentation standards and understands their legal obligations for the site to operate safely
  • Complies with all safety rules and procedures to ensure their own safety and that of colleagues and patients at all times

Person Specification:

  • Must commit to minimum 4 days a week shift pattern, including willingness to work weekends
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills and a customer centred approach
  • Good computer literacy and ability to use apps
  • Attention to detail


  • Site open 7 days a week, onsite hours 07:30 to 20:30
  • 4 days on / 4 days off shift pattern
  • 6.5-hour shifts expected, double shifts available


  • £14 per hour
  • Food allowance - £5 per day (6.5 hr shift) or £10 per day (double shift)
