Responsible to the timely delivery & collection of equipment to clients & for departments within the organisation. For delivering goods to other branches both domestically and when required internationally.

Maintain good customer facing skills and representing the company in a professional manner. Abiding by company procedures at all times. Working within safe working environment and giving due care & attention to others on health & safety.

Key Responsibilities & Duties include:

  • Deliver & collect company assets to clients in a timely manner within the UK & Europe
  • Liaise with the hire desk & schedulers on job details making sure information is accurate
  • Take and return equipment from appropriate areas with correct delivery details using documented company procedures
  • Present a company facing profile with good customer service
  • Report any issues directly to Transport Manager
  • Work on a shift pattern, ensure effective handover of incomplete jobs to colleagues
  • On call rota to cover weekend duties

Essential Skills

  • Hold full licence and professional driving skills on vehicles up to 7.5 ton
  • Interpersonal skills/good communication
  • Calm, patient, polite and non-confrontational
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and to work through the implications of unusual, or non-systematic events
  • Basic numeracy, literacy and an understanding of electrical/mechanical principles.
  • Understanding of basic computer software; e-mail, internet, Word and Excel.
  • Great sense of urgency in responding to problems.
  • Build and maintain effective team relationships.
  • Works just as effectively with supporting departments to meet customer needs as they do within their own department.
  • Flexible with working hours and willing to adapt to meet business needs.
  • Able to travel at short notice.
  • Outstanding customer service orientation, follow through and attention to detail.
