Electrician - AB10 - AB56

£48,500 + benefits, bonus and OT

A leading producer of fish products is seeking an Electrician to repair and maintain the site’s factory equipment to ensure maximum reliability. The Electrician will have completed a level 3 in electrical engineering or similar, have 18th edition, and have previous experience working in a similar environment. The Electrician will also have strong teamwork, time management, and people-facing skills, with excellent health and safety knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintenance of factory equipment including, when applicable, the installation and commissioning of new plant or the improvement of existing systems.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance routines to ensure maximum reliability of plant and process equipment.
  • Carry out boiler safety tests as per UK HSE requirements.
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed in accordance with relevant standards and practices.
  • Ensure that all works are tested under duty conditions before handing over to production.
  • Keep engineering records up to date with work history and any other relevant supporting engineering documentation.
  • Contribute to a “can-do” culture within the small team that manage and run the factory.
  • Liaise with engineering contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure that engineering spares are replaced when used and that spare parts are easily identifiable.
  • Ensure that tasks are carried out with due regard to the required Health and Safety standards.
  • Comply with and support the management of the HACCP plan and feed safety standards in raw material, intermediate and final products.
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy.
  • Keep management appraised of engineering issues.

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Completed a level 3 apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 18th Edition
  • Strong teamwork, time management and people facing skills
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge

 

Desirables:

  • Forklift license and Cherry Picker license
  • Process controls understanding and experience

 

Salary: £48,500 + Bonus and OT (OTE £52k+)
