Field Technician - Exeter - EX1 - EX39

One of the largest geotechnical investigation specialists in the UK is seeking Field Technicians to complete technical field tasks at customer sites, to produce accurate and reliable field notes for colleagues to use in their reports. Field Technicians will have minimum GCSE level qualifications, have a full driving licence, and a good range of soft skills such as teamwork, eye for detail, IT, and adaptability skills and have good work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake components of projects in the field of both a technical and logistical nature
  • Technical tasks will be largely linked to in-situ testing such as: CBR TRRL Probe, Sand Replacement Tests, Plate Load Testing, Falling Weight Deflectometer, Gas and Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling
  • Complete logistical/labour tasks such as hand excavated trial pitting, safe manual movement of equipment, creation of access, and re-instatement of ground
  • Take responsibility for own resources, potentially resource allocate of others and manage subcontractors
  • Produce accurate field notes, records and data in a timely and comprehensible manner in a range of hard copy and digital formats
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure integrity of delivery
  • Ensure compliance of deliverables
  • Enhancing team’s reputation by delivering high quality work on time and budget
  • Comply with company SHEQ, ISO14001, ISO9001 and ISO45001 quality systems and relevant H&S regulations and promoting a safety culture within the team
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required

 

Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:

  • Qualified to GCSE level including English and Maths
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Strong team player, good people skills, disciplined, adaptable and good work ethic
  • Flexible to travel for assignments
  • Good IT skills

 

Salary: £22,000 to £26,000 DOE + £4,500 site allowance and £5 lunch allowance
