A fast-growing and reputable early-years childcare and education provider is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the Company’s financial health. The Finance Manager will have a solid understanding of financial management and accounting, be proficient in cloud-based accounting software such as Xero and have strong analytical and decision-making abilities. In addition, the Finance Manager will be able to take a hands-on approach in producing, maintaining and updating any relevant financial information. Flexible working provided, but must be based in the Essex area.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts for each nursery setting and the property portfolio by the agreed reporting deadline
- Maintain and update rolling cash flow forecasts and highlight any potential issues to the CEO
- Ensure payroll, pension submissions and HMRC reporting are completed accurately and on time
- Assist the CEO and Operations Manager with the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure robust financial controls are followed across the group
- Prepare year-end schedules and supporting information for external accountants and auditors
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual processes and improve reporting accuracy
- Develop, implement and continuously improve the company's KPI dashboard and reporting framework, ensuring meaningful performance measures are in place to support effective decision-making across the business
- Review expenditure and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved value for money
- Support the effective use of Xero, payroll systems and nursery management software, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:
- Be either part qualified or have completed a degree in a relevant subject
- Solid understanding of financial management and accounting
- Effective in the use of IT software
- Proficient in cloud-based accounting software such as Xero or Sage
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Able to work well with others and have strong communication skills
- Be able to take a hands-on approach and have a good attention to detail
- Is professional and discreet
Salary: £40,000
