Fire Door Surveyor - DE1 - DE75

£30,000 - £35,000 + benefits

An independent consultancy in construction health & safety is looking for a Fire Door Surveyor to inspect customer fire doors and to accurately record all on-site tasks. Ideally the Fire Door Surveyor would be based either in London or the West Midlands however this role can be home-based anywhere in the UK. Fire Door Surveyors will have a UK driving licence, a good range of soft skills, and previous experience working in a similar environment/sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect fire doors for signs of damage, including holes, misalignment, or material degradation, and check that the ironmongery fitted to the door is fully compliant to the correct standards.
  • Meeting and liaising with property managers when needed to gain access to properties, collect keys or sourcing fire risk assessments to be read and understood.
  • Accurately recording all on site tasks on company software including capturing photos and unique details on each project, to enable a remedial team to accurately price and plan any remedial works.

 

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Full UK Driving license
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Good time management and ability to cope with pressure and manage own workload and work to deadlines.
  • Confident and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn, act with integrity and work as a team player
  • Motivated and enthusiastic individual with positive can-do attitude
  • Willing to travel and occasionally stay away
  • Attention to detail

 

Desirable:

  • Attained FDIS diploma, but this is not compulsory as we can provide training

 

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 DOE

Benefits: £4800 per annum car allowance (or company vehicle), Pension, all equipment provided
