Gas Repair Engineer - England

circa £35,000 + benefits

One the UK’s leading boiler installation and repair companies are looking for Gas Repair Engineers throughout England to provide boiler repair to residential properties. Gas Repair Engineers will need CCN1, CENWAT1, HTR1 and CKR1 as well as a full UK Drivers Licence. Previous experience with a wide range of manufacturers is essential. Gas Repair Engineers will have several benefits awarded to them, including: training, a fully equipped and stocked van, essential tools and usually working close to home (Mon-Fri only).

 

Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy or Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reactive repairs of boilers and other appliances
  • Issue notices and certificates required by the relevant regulations relating to gas safety
  • Attend appointments as scheduled and instructed
  • Adhere to manufacturer’s instructions when servicing
  • Provide information to allow records to be updated following service
  • Ensure that vehicles operated by the gas and plumbing team are operated in a safe and courteous manner and represent the company in a positive way to our residents and the general public
  • Maintain regular contact with the Team Leader and colleagues to obtain instructions and resolve working problems
  • Record completed works and maintain accurate record of work carried out including measurements and calculations

 

Person Specification: Knowledge/Experience/Skills

 

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar environment.
  • CCN1, CENWAT1, HTR1 and CKR1
  • Full UK Driving Licence (less than 6 penalty points)
  • Experience of working on a variety of different manufacturer’s appliances
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to deal with complaints

 

Desirable:

  • FCA Regulated environment experience
  • Manual Handling
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Working at heights
