A global steel manufacturing company is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to oversee and improve upon any health & safety related matters. The Health & Safety Manager will have a completed NEBOSH general certificate, have previous experience in health and safety, and worked in a hazardous or dangerous environment. The Health & Safety Manager will have good people management, leadership, communication and influencing skills. In addition, is self-motivated, careful, hands-on and pragmatic.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out accident investigations and reports on risk assessments
- Show presence on the shop floor and engage with the team in order to manage the right safety precautions
- Record and report safety related data
- Run ISO 45001 and internal audits
- Manage company H&S systems with a robust approach
- Drive the company’s safety culture and employee safety forum
- Host, chair and minute monthly safety meetings
- Develop and carry out training programmes to the team as required
- Ensure colleagues and the team understand and carry out the right safety protocols
- Implement management of the H&S systems ensuring its’ robustness
- Ensure hazards are mitigated and improvements are made
Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:
- NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent H&S qualification
- Have experience in a hazardous or dangerous environment (petrochemicals, construction etc.)
- Have good experience with health & safety
- Is self-motivated, careful, hands-on, pragmatic and has good eye for detail
- Have good influencing, leadership, people management, and communication skills
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
