HGV (Class1) Drivers - RG1 - RG45

Due to expansion we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated (Class 1) HGV Drivers to deliver and collect scaffolding across sites in London.

Our client is FORS accredited and their fleet complies with Crossrail standards.  They invest in their employees and train to the highest industry standards.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position but other qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Job Role

  • Responsible for the reliable delivery and collection of scaffolding throughout the London area
  • Ability to oversee vehicle loading and loading with the assistance of site staff
  • Managing time slots for particular jobs and updating the office of any delays
  • Driving within the tachograph law and driver hours limits
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures
  • Taking pride in condition of the lorry and ensuring it is not subjected to unnecessary damage

Essential Skills

  • HGV (Class 1) Driving Licence and CPC with Driver Card are essential
  • Minimum of three years experience working in a transport environment
  • Good geographical knowledge of the London area
  • Positive, flexible attitude to work and the ability to perform well under pressure
  • Safety conscious at all times, observant and with good attention to detail
  • Organisation & commitment, understand the importance of tight schedules
  • Problem solver and able to adapt quickly to ever changing situations in a pressured environment
  • Prepared to take responsibility and be held accountable
  • Approachable and reliable
  • Committed to delivery and customer focused (internal and external)
  • Ability to establish good working relationships and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Based on 9 hour days Monday – Friday (weekend work on occasion if required (overtime))
