Installation and Commissioning Technician - WF1 - WF17

£36,000 - £39,000 + benefits

A leading provider of communications solutions is seeking an Installation and Commissioning Engineer to perform technical support, installation, commissioning and sign off on Company equipment. The Installation and Commissioning Engineer will have completed a level 3 NVQ in electrical engineering, have 18th edition, is a qualified Electrician and experience in installing electrical products. In addition, the Installation and Commissioning Engineer will have good organisational, people-management, communication skills. You will also have a driver’s licence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical support duties, including device/system configuration and troubleshooting of customer issues at a site level
  • Install Company products to a very high level of quality, to budget and on time
  • Follow manufactures guidelines for installation and maintenance of equipment
  • Adherence to Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Wearing of required PPE at all times
  • Obtain customer sign off for all installations
  • Resolution of general support incidents in a timely fashion, either remotely or on site
  • Participate in out of hours support if required
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with Customers
  • Work as part of a team and also by themselves
  • Willingness to participate in technical and professional development

 

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Completed a NVQ level 3 in electrical engineering and is a qualified Electrician
  • Have 18th edition
  • Experienced installing instrumentation, communication and electrical products
  • Have an understanding of communication networks principles – can carry out accurate RF surveys at remote sites
  • Full drivers licence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good relationship and people-management skills
  • Highly organised and a problem solver
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure at all times
  • Commercially aware

 

Desirables:

  • Telemetry outstation and PLC installation, configuration and verification experience
  • Considerable knowledge of working practices, techniques and processes for equipment related to the calibration of instruments, controls and gauges used within the Water Industry

 

Salary: £36,000 - £39,000
