A highly specialised engineering company is seeking an IT Systems Engineer for their facility in Warrington. As part of the IT Services Team, the IT Systems Engineer will identify improvements within the existing infrastructure and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations. They will also design, deploy, and secure new Windows, VMware, and Citrix stacks. IT Systems Engineers will have experience in driving projects to completion and be able to work within a team.

  • Microsoft Systems Enterprise Design and Administration, Windows Server, Active Directory, Virtualisation, VMWare, vCenter, Citrix, DHCP and DNS.
  • Design and implementation of Microsoft Infrastructure Products in large multi-site organisations.
  • Design and implementation of VMware\vSphere server estate in large multi-site organisations.
  • Automating virtual deployments via scripting tools adhering to server best practices.
  • Ensure appropriate testing and assurance processes are completed prior to entry into service.
  • Securing server deployments to confer with industry regulations including audit of server estates.
  • NOC (Network operation centre) alerting, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Design and implement storage platforms for all system requirements.
  • Experience of implementing a Citrix deployment.
  • Identify and mitigate the risks with aspects of infrastructure design.
  • Work with other groups within the business to understand how existing systems work and provide suitable infrastructure documentation and implement improvements.
  • Provide assurance of any other designs as required by the IT team.
  • Ability to gather infrastructure requirements and creating High Level &, Low Level design and implementation plan documentation


Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:


  • Demonstrable success at driving projects to completion and initiating new processes and procedures within an R & D and commercial environment.
  • Have a well-organized and methodical approach to work and very strong analytical, project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Have experience of cross-functional working and demonstrate an effective collaborative way of working.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing stakeholder and supplier relationships.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic, with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Collaborates with other professionals to ensure high quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • ‘Can do’ attitude and willing to travel.


Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
