A company specialising in freight forwarding and supply chain management is seeking an Ocean Export Operator to support the team in managing the movement of goods across international waters, ensuring they reach their destinations safely, efficiently, and on time. The Ocean Export Operator will have excellent communication, IT, time management, and teamwork skills. As well as having good knowledge and experience of maritime logistics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to customers
- Ensure freight is moved on time with all the necessary documentation
- Arrange haulage with shipping line
- Ensure all freight is invoiced and checked prior to dispatch
- Ensure all relevant documents are on hand as required
- Ensure requests and queries are resolved and actioned quickly and efficiently
- Communicate with overseas agents, customers and suppliers in a clear precise manner
- Use customer ERP and SAP systems as and when required
- Take ownership of your own training and development so as to continuously improve and develop
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essential:
- Industry and operational knowledge of Ocean freight
- An understanding of why attention to detail matters and the commercial impact this has
- Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
- Strong numerical and commercial skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, IT, organisation, and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proactive and a team worker
- Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
Salary: £30,000
