Operations Equipment Controller - W1A - W14

The key responsibilities of this role are to work in all areas of equipment operations department. This includes equipment checking, on and off hiring of equipment, loading equipment on and off vehicles.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel will be relevant for this position, although all qualified candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities & Duties include:

  • To work in the Operations department under direction of the Operations Manager.
  • To pick all jobs accurately using the bar-coding system and ensure correct paperwork flow is followed and the equipment is in full working order and cosmetically sound.
  • To protect the company’s assets by ensuring all equipment is maintained correctly, works safely and all kits are complete and put back in the appropriate place allocated within warehouse.
  • To learn all aspects of P.A.T and gain certificate from training provided.
  • To actively and willingly seek to gain knowledge concerning the correct operation and capabilities of equipment and insphire within your area by attending training sessions, reading manuals.
  • To be available for work on the times indicated on the rota for the division.
  • To ensure that you work in conjunction with the other members in the department to maximize efficiency, maintain and develop the best interests of the department.
  • To attend and actively participate in annual performance appraisal.
  • To implement and maintain the company Health and Safety policy.

Essential Skills

  • Calm, patient and non-confrontational.
  • Polite, friendly and reliable.
  • Demonstrate sound initiative and problem solving skills.
  • Quick to learn and accurate attention to detail.
  • Good organisation and communication skills.
  • 1 year experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment or formal electrical or mechanical education.
  • Understanding of electrical/mechanical principles.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy.
  • Computer literate, to include; Outlook, Internet, Word and Excel.
