Packing Team Leader - BB1 - BB18

A specialised logistic solutions company is seeking a Packing Team Leader to manage and develop operatives and to cover the day-to-day packing operations in a busy warehouse. The Packing Team Leader will have previous experience in a warehousing environment and understand H&S management. In addition, the Packing Team Leader will have great leadership and communication skills, a ‘can do’ attitude, and understand achieving targets and deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

• Day to day management of staff and activities within the department
• Schedules kit/campaign builds in line with requirement date
• Checks pre-built sample ahead of commissioning full run
• Monitors and checks the builds ongoing to ensure compliance to agreed specification for each kit
• Monitors and orders packaging materials in line with requirements for schedule kit/campaign build
• Plan labour verses activity and increase/decrease staffing levels as appropriate
• Deals with day to day queries and escalates if unable to resolve
• Motivate staff to achieve targets
• Ensures work procedures are followed and standards are maintained
• Maintains a good standard of housekeeping within the department
• Ensure Health and Safety procedures are observed and to maintain a safe and legal working environment
• Update Shift Manager on daily progress or challenges within the department
• Undertake other duties as required to support the business in achieving excellence for all customers

Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:

• Experience in a warehousing environment
• Understanding of basic Health and Safety management
• Understanding of work/method design to support efficiency
• Competent WMS and IT skills

Salary: £22,500 to £23,500
