Plant Fitter / Fabricator - CM0 - CM77

£32,000 - £38,000 + Overtime + Benefits

This role will be predominantly workshop based, maintaining a fleet of forklifts, including diagnostic, service, installing additional equipment, fabrication of in-house products.

The position is Monday to Friday 7.30am-5pm, although these hours may change occasionally to meet business demands, so the successful candidate will be flexible.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position but other qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Major Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities

Operational:

  • Working onsite maintaining a fleet of forklifts, including diagnostic, service, installing additional equipment, fabrication of in-house products.
  • Order and maintain stocks of high use spares, oils and consumables
  • Ensure all forklifts are tested in accordance with LOLOR regulations.
  • Carry out minor repairs to fleet of HGVs and LGV vans (main servicing is off-site at dealer location).
  • Maintenance of Wash bay equipment, high power jet washers, board cleaning equipment.
  • Ensure the premises are kept clean and tidy
  • Check stock levels and report shortages to Foreman
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety at all times

Training:

  • Training will be given to the successful candidate.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CSCS is essential
  • Experience of working in a similar role desirable but not essential
  • Experience of manual handling
  • Hardworking and reliable
  • Polite and professional
  • Full Driving License
