A leading provider of on-site renewable energy solutions to commercial businesses is seeking a Plant Technician to go to customer sites across the UK to inspect and perform basic maintenance tasks. The Plant Technician will have previous experience in maintenance, have a strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, and have excellent communication skills. In addition, you will have basic computing skills, a driver’s licence, willingness to travel to customer sites, and is detail oriented. This is a full-time position, working 4 days per week, however due to the nature of the role there will be nights away.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites and conduct visual inspections
  • Evaluate the overall condition of equipment and identify or raise any potential areas of concern
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring optimal efficiency of the plant
  • Complete basic repair tasks including oil top ups, pump replacements, small pipework fixes and general cleaning
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and any repairs performed
  • Provide detail reports to superiors
  • Communicate with customers professionally and courteously
  • Collaborate with customers to schedule maintenance visits
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and colleagues to coordinate maintenance schedules
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during on-site visits
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to maintenance activities

 

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in maintenance
  • Have strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate records
  • Basic computing skills

 

Desirables:

  • Have worked on CHP and plant systems or similar equipment

 

Shifts:

  • Full-time position, working 4 days per week. Specific work hours may vary based on scheduling requirements. Due to travel distance, role will require nights away.

 

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000
