A global leader in the pharmaceutical sector is seeking a Procurement Manager to provide procurement support to any assigned countries focusing on procurement management and sourcing activities. The Procurement Manager will have completed a business-related degree or have proven practical experience in the procurement sector. In addition, the Procurement Manager will have excellent IT, communication and analytical skills. This is a hybrid position, with occasional travel needed to our Client's office near Maidenhead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the strategic procurement part within S2C process of defined areas and is the key contact person for all operational and strategic procurement activities in the Cluster
  • Gives functional support to assigned countries and Sourcing Managers and supports the tactical procurement management team
  • Act as key contact for local budget holders and leadership teams to lead strategic discussions and decisions with regards to S2C processes; inform, escalate and discuss requirements with the Global Procurement Leadership Team
  • Implement/spread procurement awareness amongst all relevant process stakeholders and act as Business Partner
  • Provide a comprehensive cross-functional and -regional governance framework for procurement processes, monitor spend across the region, ensure accurate reporting of spend, regular review of obligo, ensure inaccurate purchase orders are addressed and corrected
  • Assess and evaluate demand requirements raised by functions and present to cross-regional Sourcing team for discussion and decision on bundling potential
  • Ensure compliance to standard processes across functions, departments and regions, especially tendering and contract management including document management for tendering and contracting, support vendor due diligence process and master data management for vendors
  • Active contribution on change and continuous improvement initiatives for optimisation of the function/category
  • Conduct analysis / reports to further bundling effects, framework contracts and catalogues increase efficiency and reduce costs


Knowledge, skills and qualifications:


  • Have minimum undergraduate degree in business or relevant field
  • Have proven practical experience in a similar procurement role in a large organisation
  • Have strong understanding of procurement processes
  • Good understanding of supply markets in typical spend areas
  • Experience in cross-functional projects
  • Basic understanding of contract law
  • Very good analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills and knowledge of SAP MM, eSourcing & other eProcurement tools


Salary: £58,000 - £64,000 DOE
