Role Summary:

Our client is seeking a Project Manager who can manage and co-ordinate the delivery of projects to their conclusion. You will be responsible for the full cost control and resolution of any disputes, including production of monthly cost forecasts and achieving projected revenues and gross margins.

You will work closely with the customer to deliver an end to end process whilst planning direct and indirect onsite resource. A key responsibility will be Health and Safety performance including subcontract liabilities. The role will be responsible for a number of live projects at any one time, with the support of their team members and site teams.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military Officers (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position but other qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the project management team assisting with various project applications.
  • Review project documentation at order stage.
  • Maintaining electronic filing systems for all project records.
  • Ensuring that all project processes are followed and adhered to.
  • Set project timeline and monitor project deliverables.
  • Full cost control and resolution of any disputes.
  • Monthly cost forecasts and achieving projected revenues and gross margins.
  • Deliver an end to end process with customers.
  • Attending sites to assess progress and resolve site issues prior to labour attending.
  • Plan direct and indirect onsite resources.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality audits on site with your engineers and sub-contractors to ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with defined procedures.
  • Managing of CDM regulations, method statements, risk assessments, COSHH regulations and toolbox talks on all projects being carried out.
  • Update relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress.
  • Identify risks and communicate to appropriate stakeholders. Develop a risk mitigation strategy and a contingency plan.
  • Coach and support project team members with tasks you assign them.
  • Carry out regular site visits to build relationships with client teams on site and to ensure efficient delivery of the project.

General Requirements:

  • Qualification in a construction related discipline or project management certification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Project Management experience.
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical understanding.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills and the ability to communicate across diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem solving and exceptional analytical skills.
  • Strong organisational skills in dealing with multiple issues & various deliverables.
  • Strong IT skills
