One of the largest geotechnical investigation specialists in the UK is seeking a Project Manager to manage projects, mentor junior staff, and build client relationships. The Project Manager will need to be qualified in Geology/Civil Engineering to degree level and have an excellent range of soft skills such as time management, communication, people, and leadership skills and have good eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple projects, take responsibility for own resources and potentially allocate to others, manage subcontractors, quality assurance checks, and provide client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/modifications
• Mentoring, Coaching and technical development of more junior staff
• Help monitor and appraise performance of personnel
• Lead by example to achieve goals and championing quality
• Resolve project technical issues
• Manage compliance of deliverables
• Enhance team’s reputation by delivering high quality work on time and budget
• Commercial input (contract, invoicing, debt management, client management etc) to projects for which responsible
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients
• Leading by example to achieve goals and championing quality and innovation
• Preparing and checking drawings, specifications, reports and other project deliverables as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice
• Ensure that the Company’s policies are implemented successfully
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as required

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

• Have attained a Geology/Civil Engineering degree
• Have proven investigatory skills gained from either a contracting or consultancy background
• Previously managed teams
• Good motivational, communication, and people management skills
• Have previous project management experience
• Flexible to travel for short assignments
• Excellent IT skills

Desirable:

• Completed master’s degree
• Attained Chartered Professional Membership in CGeol or CEng
• Financial/Project Management accreditation

Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 DOE
