Projects Engineer
Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Projects Engineer to join their projects delivery team, focusing on the delivery of major projects and preventative maintenance. The successful candidate will be experienced in the delivery of LMR/DMR systems from a background of RF engineering with exposure to manufacturers of DMR equipment including dispatch systems. The engineer will be adept at IP integration, RF design including both active and passive DAS for wide area and in-building coverage.
Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position.
Main Purpose:
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the scoping, design, build, installation, and commissioning of DMR and supporting systems. Key emphasis will be placed on documentation and innovation. The role will be as varied as it is face paced.
- Input to system proposals at tender stage
- Development of system design documentation
- Development of system commissioning documentation
- On site installation oversight
- Configuration of DMR/IT/DAS components
- Carrying out and documenting system acceptance documentation
- Site surveys and reports
- Act as a SME both internally and externally to Radiocoms.
Key Skills:
- Educated to HNC level or higher
- Professional knowledge of at least one major manufacturer DMR technology, Tier 2 and Tier 3 systems
- Active DAS systems
- CCNA/Network+, or working towards
- AC/DC Power supply systems
- RF Test equipment, Spectrum Analysers, Service Monitors, Site Master
- Exposure to Windows server and SQL a plus
- Exposure to projects environments
- Proficient with the MS Office suite including Visio and Project. Autocad desirable.
- Be eligible for Security Clearance and DBS checks.
Skills/Attributes:
This role is not purely design and integration as time on tools will be expected and holding in date certification in the following would be advantageous:
- CSCS/ECS/CCNSG Card
- Tower Access and Rescue
- GWO Working at Height, First Aid etc.
- IPAF
- PRINCE2 or similar
Geographical location not important to this role but must be willing to travel.
