Pump Engineer - EC1A - EC4Y

£36,000 + bonus and benefits

A leading irrigation company in the UK is seeking a Pump Engineer to service, diagnose and repair varying pumps and control panels, covering South East England. The Pump Engineer will need excellent customer service skills and previous experience on pumps, associated motors and control panels; therefore, the Pump Engineer will also need to have electrical knowledge of single and three-phase. A driving licence is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and maintaining client’s irrigation systems around the South East
  • Diagnose and repair problems with pump stations and/or control panels identifying the cause and have a plan of action to solve the issue
  • Identify the materials required to replace/repair
  • Assess and build stock levels
  • Report findings back to the office for material ordering
  • Manage your own diary in line with company/client’s needs
  • Keeping clients informed at all times on current progress
  • Able to accomplish the role independently

 

Person Specification: Knowledge, Experience and Skills

 

Essential:

  • Previous engineering experience working with a variety of pumps
  • Electrical knowledge of single and three-phase and control panels.
  • Must hold a Driving Licence
  • Able to work independently but with good customer-facing skills

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of variable speed pumps
  • Knowledge of control panels
  • Knowledge of aerator fountain pumps

 

Hours:

  • Minimum of 40 hours per week (Mon – Fri)
  • Hours may vary to suit the business needs.
  • Expect plenty of travel around Hertfordshire / Buckinghamshire /Essex / Kent / London / Dorset / Hampshire

 

Holidays:

  • 20 days + 8 days bank holiday
  • Two-week closure at Christmas (five days of holiday needed)
