Team Leader - BB1 - BB18

A specialised logistic solutions company is seeking a Team Leader to manage and develop operatives and to cover the day-to-day operations in a busy warehouse. The Team Leader will have previous experience in a warehousing environment and understand H&S management. In addition, the Team Leader will have great leadership and communication skills, a ‘can do’ attitude, and understand achieving targets and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day to day management of staff and activities within the department
• Plan workload and issue instructions to team
• Plan labour verses activity and liaise with Section Manger where appropriate
• Monitor, evaluate and re- assess progress to achieve daily output targets
• Deals with day to day queries and escalates if unable to resolve
• Motivate staff to achieve targets
• Ensures work procedures are followed and standards are maintained
• Maintains a good standard of housekeeping within the department
• Ensure Health and Safety procedures are observed and to maintain a safe and legal working environment
• Update manager on daily progress or challenges within the department
• Undertake other duties as required to support the business in achieving excellence for all customers
• All aspects of people management, issuing instructions, team briefs, return to work, coaching, training, monitoring performance and completion of relevant documentation

Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:

• Experience in a warehousing environment
• Understanding of basic Health and Safety management
• Competent WMS and IT skills

Salary: £22,500 to £23,500
