Trainee Stores/Driver - TN1 - TN40

£24K (with OTE - up to £30K)

Working with the Operations Team, you will initially be trained to work in the Stores and Package Conversion unit and carry out deliveries in vans.

Subject to showing the required commitment to these roles and the training required, the successful candidate will be trained for HGV (C Class) Licence and potentially on to HGV (C+E) Licence.  This is a fantastic long-term training and career development opportunity.

  • Working alongside the Operations teams, you will be responsible for loading and unloading of goods, warehouse stock management.
  • Providing support to the Package Conversion staff you will work alongside them as required to ensure demand for this service is met.
  • Providing support to existing delivery drivers, carry out deliveries of goods across the south and midlands using vans. Once qualified you will move onto our fleet of 15T and 18T rigid HGVs, and then following a successful period you will then move on to towing trailers including the Sleeper vehicles.
  • Once qualified you will be required to be part of a ‘rota’ of sleeper drivers which will require several nights per week/month covering deliveries across the country.
  • Liaison with internal and external customers you will be part of a team that provides first class customer service, representing our business to a high standard.
  • Ensure all compliance checks are completed.

  • Consistently maintain high professional standards and demonstrate excellent customer service, communicating positively and clearly, showing courtesy and respect.

  • Take appropriate action to ensure customer problems are resolved to meet or exceed their expectations, escalate challenging customer problems to your Line Manager to manage where necessary.

Essential Skills

  • Hold full (UK) licence

  • Understanding of basic computer software; e-mail, internet, Word and Excel.
