A large UK cable supplier is seeking a Transport Supervisor to manage a fleet of vehicles of varying sizes and help improve business growth. The Transport Supervisor will have previous experience working in a similar position and have experience in multi-drop distribution. In addition, the Transport Supervisor will have good geographical knowledge, experience in fleet compliance such as FORS, and excellent leadership, communication and managerial skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Daily driver briefing and debriefing
- Supporting with the creation and management of purchase orders
- Maintaining accurate records across transport operations
- Assisting in disciplinary processes when necessary
- Promoting and maintaining a strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture
- Investigating operational incidents and implementing corrective actions
- Identifying and driving operational efficiencies (e.g. vehicle utilisation, R&M spend, training)
- Monitoring and actioning vehicle defects and driver infringements
- Maintaining high fleet standards (cleanliness, compliance, presentation)
- Collaborating closely with warehouse and production teams
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience working in a transport environment, ideally as a supervisor
- Background in multi-drop distribution
- Familiarity with fleet compliance standards, especially FORS
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach
- Commercially aware and customer-focused
Desirables:
Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 DOE
