Our client, a highly successful family-run vehicle specialist, is seeking a Vehicle Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will have completed a time-served apprenticeship in vehicle mechanics or in mechanical engineering and be passionate about motor vehicles, possess great teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position but other qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
- To work on a large variety of vehicles
- Inspecting, servicing, repairing and testing of vehicles
- Planning and prioritising work in order to complete on time
- Carrying out routine inspections to diagnose repairs or work required
- Diagnosing and carrying out repairs for each task individually and offering suggestions surrounding how each can be fixed
- Upholding company standards and provide exceptional customer service
- Interpret and implement technical service instruction data.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with safety standards before return to customers & any faults have been reported.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Completed an apprenticeship in vehicle mechanics or in a relevant mechanical engineering subject
- Have demonstrable experience in diagnostics and repair, ideally in vehicles
- Possess great teamwork, communication, organisational skills
- Working with hand-tools and power tools.
- Good team player and communicator, flexible approach to multiple tasks, taking responsibility for own actions.
- Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and discipline
- Possess a strong interest in motor vehicles
Hours:
Monday to Friday 8:30am – 6pm with an hours lunch. Every other Saturday 8:30am – 1pm. Occasional overtime.
