A leading UK company specialising in the commercial leasing of goods is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to improve the performance and operations of all the warehouse teams and managers at its London branch and oversee the H&S and quality control of stock. Due to the continuous cycle of product movement, the Warehouse Operations Manager needs to be highly organised and have strong leadership, people management and communication skills. The Warehouse Operations Manager will have proven experience developing team performance, have knowledge and understanding of health and safety for this environment, and strong experience working in a similar operations/environment and managerial role. This is not a Warehouse Manager position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the warehouse teams in London
  • Ensure the warehouse has the highest standards of Health and Safety
  • Perform detailed analyses of existing operations and processes
  • Devise new approaches to improve efficiencies and cost-effectiveness while meeting quality objectives
  • Work with management on budgeting, planning and reporting requirements
  • Plan shifts and nighttime opening for peak activity and work towards better stock allocation
  • Assist in setting staffing levels consistent with budgets, departmental needs and activity levels
  • Direct, manage, train and mentor warehouse team leaders and managers
  • Assist in managing supply, equipment and staff levels
  • Develop and build relationships across the organisation
  • Establish organisational relationships and mutually beneficial alliances with potential company partners

 

Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:

  • Previously worked in a warehouse operations role or similar fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience improving team performance and mentoring managers/leaders
  • Good analytical, reporting and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and management skills
  • Strong H&S knowledge

 

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 DOE
